In 2007, I was training for my third marathon, working full-time as a high school Spanish teacher, and raising 2 beautiful children. I packed my lunch, gathered my necessities and was pulling out of my driveway when I was overcome with profound fatigue. I went back to bed to rest and literally did not get up for two weeks except to use the bathroom and eat. After I was able to stay awake for a few hours at a time, I started the long process of visiting all types of doctors and trying all types of therapies, conventional, non-conventional, just about anything that gave me a glimmer of hope to get my old-self back.
Fast forward to 2016, I no longer require 11 or more hours of sleep per day, but there are still lingering symptoms, mainly unilateral body pain and chronic migraine. The three things that have made the most profound changes in my health have been a whole food, mostly plant-based diet, yoga and the Melt Method.
In 2016, I completed my Melt Method Hand and Foot Training with creator and founder Sue Hitzmann, and then went on to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Marianne Wells. I combine these two modalities to gently bring an increase of range of motion to the muscles and tissues, to reduce pain and to calm the nervous system for an overall sense of relaxation and wellbeing. I hope you will come join me!
